How We Review

How We Test and Review Products

Product reviews can be a bit of a complex thing to do. Every reviewer follows a different style and approach to product evaluation. This is why no two reviews are the same. At TechUpside, we have designed a review program that aims to standardize our reviews without leaving behind the uniqueness of every reviewer. Let’s discuss our methods and techniques for rating products and services briefly.

General Reviews

Firstly, our reviews mainly focus on hands-on experience with the product. They are mainly based on what the reviewer has experienced after using the product for a significant period. They are neither written based on assumptions nor on fleeting experience. No matter what the product is- a phone, laptop, gaming console, TV or a new application- we aim to adopt it into our everyday lives and provide a clearer picture to the readers.

Our Scoring Process

Every product that we review is scored between 1-10. We score them based on a range of criteria- performance, value, and other subjective factors. As the score is not a weighted average, the editor holds the right to manage the average to better showcase the overall quality. A score is best seen as a snapshot in time, which is then compared to other devices available at the time when the review is published.

The editors also have the right to change the score of a review even after its publication because of software updates or later changes. However, we only proceed with this in extremely rare cases and we will always justify the reasoning about the changed score.
