Brands have developed a new kind of display called the ultrawide monitor. Its main aim is to increase overall productivity for people working in all areas of life.
Suppose you’re a gamer or a coder. In that case, these vast, ultrawide monitors will provide a more vivid gaming experience and enable you to arrange multiple windows side by side without needing numerous monitors.
Finding the most excellent ultrawide monitor for your requirements will depend on your preferences and budget.
The Alienware AW3423DW from Dell
Our testing has shown the Dell Alienware AW3423DW to be the finest ultrawide display available. It’s a 34-inch display with a resolution of 3440×1440, making it ideal for video playback, gaming, and general web usage. The image quality is exceptional as it uses a quantum dot organic light-emitting diode (QD-OLED) display.
This phenomenon implies that it appears excellent in low-light settings but lacks the same amount of blackness in well-lit spaces, which makes them seem purple. The peak brightness is acceptable for usage in an area with low lighting and does a good job of blocking off reflections.
This monitor isn’t suitable for the workplace due to colour fringing and lack of font, but you can overcome these problems creatively. The OLED screen’s relatively close reaction time ensures fluid movements. This benefits gaming and online browsing since you won’t experience blur when reading.
The Alienware AW3423DWF is a better bargain with the same functionality, but for its retail price, it could be a little more vivid in HDR.
The LG 40WP95C-W
The LG 40WP95C-W is a fantastic business monitor with a more extensive 40-inch panel. It also has a display quality of 5120 x 2160, the same as a 4k screen but with comparatively more lateral pixels, providing excellent font readability. It doesn’t work equally well in bright areas and has worse reflection management than the Dell, but it’s good as long as some lights are on.
This monitor is great for the workplace since it features two Thunderbolt USB-C connectors. Because of its 95W power transmission, you could plug in your laptop and keep gaming or editing. You may not need to calibrate it since it shows a large colour gamut in SDR and has outstanding accuracy.
Ultrawide monitors often have poor practicality, but this one shines because of its constant picture, even when seen from extreme angles.

LG 34GP950G-B
The LG 34GP950G-B is an excellent option if you don’t require an ultrawide monitor for serious office work but still want a high-quality one for gaming and other purposes.
Despite its smaller size and lower 3440×1440 resolution, it includes additional gaming capabilities, such as a maximum 180Hz framerate and G-SYNC high refresh rate (VRR), so you can get the most out of your Nvidia GeForce card. Furthermore, there is very little motion blurring at any frame rate, making for excellent motion control.
It offers an impressive colour spectrum in SDR and HDR, making photos seem natural and accurate. It provides reasonable reflection control and excellent brightness levels so that glare won’t be a problem even in brightly light settings. Blacks seem grey on it, and its shading function is poor, but that’s the price you pay for saving money.
Gigabyte M34WQ
Gigabyte’s ultrawide monitor provides excellent value for money and has a few functions useful in the workplace, such as a KVM bridge. It contains a USB-C connector compatible with Hdmi Alternate Mode, albeit the port can only provide 16W of power.
Like LG, it excels in bright spaces because of its high peak brightness and excellent reflection management. But, in a low-contrast environment, such as a dark room, blacks seem grey and lack clarity.
However, Gigabyte’s office-centric capabilities make it a better option than the LG.
The CU34G2X From AOC
Because of its adaptability and low cost, the AOC gets a spot on our list. While lacking the Gigabyte’s office-centric capabilities and LG’s superb image quality, this ultrawide monitor does the job. Because of its high natural dynamic range, it appears well in moderately bright spaces.
Compared to other ultrawide monitors in the same price range, this one offers superior aesthetics thanks to its pivot, elevation, and tilt adjustments. Because of the panel type, viewing from multiple angles becomes complicated, so the corners of the screen fcentret if you’re too near to it.
Nevertheless, the aggressive curve helps remedy this problem by bringing the edges closer to the center of the screen.
Conclusion
Stay calm in the technicalities. Unless you’re looking for it, you won’t even notice why we criticize ultrawide monitors. Hence, look at customer reviews, find the one with the right specs and budget, and purchase without delving into technical jargon or irrelevant details.
