The recent trending top is the all-new AI tool ChatGPT. It has created a massive wave of curiosity since its arrival. For several years there was worldwide fear that Artificial Intelligence would take over the world, but who knew it would start with the world of literature and art?

There are many folks who used the recent OpenAI-GPT-3 tool and there are still many people who are unaware of the GPT-3 that is ruling the charts of trending topics. For those folks, I would say to keep reading the article in order to know more about GPT-3 and everything about it.

What is GPT-3?

Well, this is the basic question that people who do not know much about artificial intelligence are asking currently. After months of dominating the internet with its AI generator- Dall-E 2, OpenAI has continued to be all over social media feeds and the credit goes to ChatGPT.

ChatGPT is a chatbot that is made by using the technology of the company which is GPT-3. ChatGPT can simply be called GPT-3 chatbot. Well, the name is not really catchy and could easily be the name of any computer component or vague legal reference, but GPT-3 is actually the internet’s best-known AI processing language tool. The GPT-3 AI is the current topic that you need to know about.

However, since its release, it has been banned in many schools, and which were utilized by Microsoft to revolutionize Bing, complete legal tests, compose essays, and do everything that is in between. Now, it is seen that the company has also introduced a premium version of ChatGPT-3. This plan offers users an added benefit of $20 (£16) a month which includes priority access and faster load times.

I know you guys still have the question: what is GPT-3? Well, keep reading to know more.

GPT-3 and ChatGPT:

GPT-3 (Generative Pretrained Transformer 3) is basically a state-of-the-art language processing AI model which is developed by OpenAI. The GPT 3 chatbot is capable of generating human-like texts and has a wide range of applications which includes language translation, language modelling, and also generating text for such applications as those of chatbots.

It is also one of the most powerful language processing AI models and also the largest to date, the GPT3 bot has 175 billion parameters.

So, the ChatGPT-3 bot is a highly capable chatbot. Just to let you know the basic ability of the GPT-3 chatbot, you can ask GPT-3 to compose an essay and it will give a well-written essay. Pretty cool, right?

To say in less corporate terms, GPT-3 gives the user the ability to give a trained AI a wide range of worded prompts. They can be anything such as questions, requests for a piece of writing on a topic of your choice, or a huge number of other worded requests.

Now, since you have come to know about ChatGPT, let’s now get to know how to use it. And how much does it cost?

How to Use ChatGPT?

Well, using the GPT-3 is quite simple, and let me tell you that you are going to have fun while using the GPT 3 chat. So, without any further delay let’s get to the steps of using the GPT-3.

  • You just have to go to the ChatGPT website and create an account.
  • Then you have to wait until your account gets accepted. You can skip this step if you have an account in Dall-E 2.
  • When you log in, you will be presented with a very simple page. You will also be offered some example prompts along with some information about how ChatGPT works.
  • At the bottom of the page, you will find a text box, this is where you can ask the ChatGPT any of your questions or prompts.

These steps are pretty simple and super fun to follow. Currently, ChatGPT is free to use so folks you do not need to worry about the cost of GPT-3. However, OpenAI has announced that ChatGPT Pro- will be a pay-to-use version with added benefits.

As mentioned earlier the version of pay-to-use GPT-3 will cost $20 (£16) a month, which will offer priority access, quicker load times, and access to updates and new features to everyone.

Are you excited to know more about GPT-3?

Why Use GPT-3?

Well, the GPT-3 has 175 billion parameters, and it becomes hard to narrow down what the GPT-3 can do. The model cannot produce sound, video, or images like its brother Dall-E 2. But the GPT-3 has an in-depth understanding of the written and spoken word.

It gives a pretty wide range of abilities, everything from writing poems about sentient farts and cliché rom-com in alternate universes, you can also understand quantum mechanics in simple terms or writing full-length research papers and articles.

It is super fun to use OpenAI’s years of research to get an AI tool to write bad stand-up comedy scripts or answer questions about your favourite celebrities, GPT-3 has it all. The power of GPT-3 lies in its speed and understanding of complicated matters.

We end up spending hours doing research, understanding and writing an article on quantum mechanics, but ChatGPT can produce a well-written alternative in seconds. Pretty fast, right?

Challenges Faced by GPT-3:

However, the GPT-3 has limitations and its software can be easily confused if your prompts become too complicated, or even if you are on the road where the content is too niche. Also, the GPT-3 can’t deal with concepts that are recent. World events that have occurred in the past year will be there but with limited knowledge and the model can produce false or confused information occasionally.

OpenAI is aware of the internet and its love of making AI produce dark and harmful content. Like the Dall-E image generator earlier, ChatGPT will stop you from asking more inappropriate questions or help with dangerous requests.

How does GPT-3 work?

Now, let’s get to know how GPT-3 works. On the face of it, GPT-3 ‘s technology is simple. It takes your requests, questions, or prompts and quickly answers them. SO, GPT-3 is your prompt generator.

The model was trained using text databases from the Internet. This includes a whopping 570 GB of data which are obtained from books, web texts, Wikipedia, articles, and other pieces of writing on the internet. To give you more exact information, 300 billion words are fed into the GPT-3 system. As it’s a language model, it works on probability, it is able to guess what word will come next in a sentence. To get to a stage where it could do this, the model went through a supervised testing stage.

Here it was fed with inputs that included examples such as “What colour is the wood of a tree?”. The team has the correct input in mind but that does not mean that it will get it right. If it gets wrong, the team inputs the correct answer back into the system, teaching correct answers and helping in building its knowledge. Pretty sorted way of feeding software!

The second stage is similar to the first one, offering multiple answers with a member of the team ranking them from best to worst, training the model on the basis of comparison.

What sets this technology apart is that it continues to learn while guessing what would be the next word. In this way, the GPT-3 constantly tries to improve its understanding of prompts and questions in order to become the ultimate know-it-all.

Where ChatGPT Thrives and Fails?

Well, the GPT-3 software is definitely an impressive one, but that does not indicate it is flawless. Through the ChatGPT function, you will be able to see some of its quirks.

It is most obvious that the GPT-3 has limited knowledge of the World after 2021. The GPT-3 is not aware of the world leaders who came into power after 2021, hence the GPT-3 will not be able to answer questions that are related to recent events.

This comes as no surprise considering the impossible task of keeping up with the world regarding recent events along with training the software with new information. The GPT-3 model is equally capable of generating incorrect information, getting answers wrong or can misunderstand what you are asking it. If you try to get a niche with GPT-3 or ask too many prompts then the GPT-3 can become overwhelmed or ignore parts of the prompt completely.

Equally, you must know that the GPT-3 is quite successful regarding a lot of factors. GPT 3 AI has surprisingly a good understanding of ethics and morality. It also has the ability to keep track of the existing conversation and be able to remember rules that you have set in it along with the information that you have given it earlier.

Conclusion:

This is all about the ChatGPT that you need to know. Hope the article helped you in getting all the information that you needed.
