Back in the day, what we once referred to as wireless earbuds actually had a wire connecting the buds. You can, of course, still find neck-band-style Bluetooth earbuds that have a wire, but the majority of folks looking to buy a pair of earbuds these days are looking for true-wireless earbuds that offer the freedom of being totally cord-free. And most of today’s true-wireless earbuds can be used not only as a stereo pair but as a single bud so you can keep one ear open to the world while listening to your music, podcasts or making voice calls. There are no shortage of true-wireless earbuds options available, which is why we’ve done the testing and research to find the best wireless earbuds for 2023.
Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II :
When it comes to blocking out the world, the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II are the best at the task. Bose earbuds introduced a redesigned active noise canceling set earlier this year and the smaller earbuds deliver a more comfy fit. The company also managed to improve ambient sound and maintain its track record of solid audio quality. However, the real star here is the ANC performance which is hands-down the best you can get right now. The QC Earbuds II don’t have some basic features like multipoint connectivity and wireless earbuds charging, so that might factor into your decision.
Apple AirPods Pro 2 : (apple earbuds)
Available for preorder now and shipping Sept. 23, the new AirPods Pro (2nd generation) are powered by Apple’s new H2 chip, which delivers more processing power while being more energy efficient, according to Apple. The new chip, combined with new low-distortion drivers, allows for improved sound that offers better clarity and depth. The noise canceling is also improved — Apple says the new AirPods have “double” the noise canceling of the original AirPods Pro. Additionally, the new AirPods (iphone earphone) add an extra hour of battery life, up from five to six hours with noise canceling on. Plus, a speaker in the case that emits a sound that helps locate your earbuds via Find My should they decide to hide from you.
noise earbuds :
The Noise Buds Connect is a pair of half in-ear wireless earbuds featuring 13mm audio drivers. It is IPX5 rated for sweat and water resistance. Supported by environmental noise cancellation (ENC), it is said to offer crystal-clear audio experience while making calls, virtual meets, and seamless communication. It comes with a USB Type-C port for charging. Noise says these earbuds can deliver up to 50 hours of playtime coupled with Quad Mic ENC and nearly 10 hours of single buds playtime. The earbuds have Bluetooth 5.2 for wireless connectivity and support HyperSync technology for quick pairing. For voice calls, the earbuds pack quad-microphone setup. It is compatible with both Android and iOS devices and has support for Google Assistant and Siri voice assistant. These have touch buttons to control music, adjust volume, activate voice assistant and receive/reject calls.
sony airpod :
One of the biggest surprises this year wasn’t Sony’s unique open-wear LinkBuds, it was the more mainstream follow-up. With the LinkBuds S, the company debuted a more “traditional” design akin to its premium WF-1000XM4, only this model is much smaller and lighter which leads to a much more comfy fit. These tiny buds muster some punch when it comes to sound quality too and support for high-res listening (LDAC and DSEE Extreme) are both onboard. Capable ANC lends a hand with environmental noise and transparency mode can keep you tuned in when needed. What’s more, handy Speak-to-Chat is here and Adaptive Sound Control can automatically change settings based on activity or location. That’s a lot of premium for features at a mid-range price.
samsung earphones :
The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 isn’t a breakout set of earbuds, but it does its job well as an everyday headset. The sound quality is sure to please most listers and the noise cancelling, while not the best, is quite good for the price. Even still, you might find it hard to justify this compared to the more advanced Galaxy Buds Pro and more comfortable (and affordable) Galaxy Buds Plus. Mobile tech powerhouse Samsung often keeps pace with Apple, its main competitor. Unlike Apple and other audio companies, Samsung has a midrange set of active noise cancelling (ANC) earphones that appeal to consumers.
Do I Need Waterproof Earbuds?
The answer to this depends on how you use your earbuds. If you only plan to use earbuds while sitting at your desk or watching TV, earbuds waterproof and sweat resistance won’t likely factor into your buying decision—though this feature would be handy if you accidentally drop your earbuds into a sink, toilet or cup of coffee. However, if you plan to use your earbuds while being more active—say commuting, taking a walk, or during a workout—your best earbuds is buying a model with water and sweat resistance.
